From West Yorkshire Spinners a British Bluefaced Leicester DK for hand knitting and crochet.

Bluefaced Leicester sheep are a hardy hill breed producing soft, silky yarn with a lustrous handle that is a joy to knit.

With new shades added in summer 2024 - the collection now features 12 rich tonal shades inspired by the Yorkshire landscape.

There's a pattern book featuring this yarn here but it is a standard DK weight and is a good substitute for use in other DK patterns.

There is also a free knitting pattern by Sarah Hatton for a patterned and plain round neck jumper, which you can download here.

Or why not try this free knitting pattern for a slip stitch rib hat and scarf set.

West Yorkshire Spinners (WYS) is one of the few yarn brands in the UK still designing and manufacturing yarn in-house. Most of their fleeces come from suppliers in Bradford and they are processed at their factory in Keighley. Indeed, the whole operation takes place within a 40 mile area, including an on-site dye house.
