One of the most common exclamations when people enter the Pittenweem shop is - "Love your wallpaper!"
So what better way to celebrate the shop's 10th birthday than an exclusive limited edition colourway from My Mama Knits called... Love Your Wallpaper!
Using her popular Choufunga 4ply yarn base this yarn is perfect for socks but one hank is also enough for a small shawl/scarf.
Looking back through older shop samples I came across Antarktis designed by Janina Kallio. The combination of garter stitch and eyelets make this asymmetrical shawl bigger than our own asymmetrical scarf. A great example of how far 400m of 4ply can stretch and a good way to 'break up' the colours in variegated yarns.
The longer shape is also quite versatile!
It also can't be overstated how much fun variegated yarn is to use. Watching little pops of colours on your needles or hook come together in unexpected ways!

I'm using my current favourite sock pattern (the heel is so neat) written for magic loop but easy to adapt for however you knit your small circumferences.
I love how slip stitches on the heel give a pixelated effect!
