Yarn Issue 6

Yarn - The Journal of Scottish Yarns is a new bi-annual journal focussing on community, history, culture and creativity of textiles in Scotland.

It aims to tell the stories - past and present - of the fibres, skills, artisans and industries  and supporting creativity through a range of projects you can make yourself.

• CAPRICIOUS CASHMERE The Scottish Cashmere Producers Association was decades ahead of its time. 
• SECURING CHAINS OF INNOVATION AND TRADITION: Established in the 18th century, Johnstons of Elgin survived when so many other mills failed.  
• INCLUSIVE, INTERNATIONAL, VERSATILE … KILTS: ACME Atelier, contemporary kilt-maker in Moray, combines traditional craft skills with printmaking and a global twist.
