Buggiflooer is the 2023 Shetland Wool Week hat pattern.
Designed by Alison Rendall, this hat celebrates nature with traditional elements and a large flower motif. The name Buggiflooer is a Shetland name for Sea Campion which grows near her home by the sea.
You can use as many colours as you like! The design is written for 6 but there's also a version using just 3.
The pattern includes versions using different Shetland yarns but it's a great opportunity to check your stash.
The size of the hat is determined by needle size. You'll be knitting in the round so choose a needle type that you prefer to use to knit a small circumference.
- Small, 48cm head, 2.75mm needle
- Medium, 51cm head, 3mm needle
- Large, 54cm head, 3.25mm needle
