Twixtmas Cowl by Lousie Tilbrook.
Inspired by the time between Christmas and New Year this cowl is a quick knitting project, with a rhythmic slip stitch pattern that's not too demanding. It's knitted in the round, so once you've cast off... you’re done!
I knitted the shop one in Schoppel Wolle Zauberball Crazy Cotton DK (shade 2367), a self striping yarn with two colours plied together creating an lively effect. It's 100% organic cotton and is soft and plump (not hard and stringy!)
Combined with your favourite circular needles (mine are KnitPro Symfonie circular needles) it's a pleasure to knit.
You can see our Zauberball Crazy Cotton DK range here.
Another DK will work well too! You need approximately 150m for this size. You could even knit it using small leftover amounts of DK - the slip stitch gives a nice woven effect and you could experiment with different shades.
This pattern would make a good next steps project. Because of the slip stitches you do need to be mindful where your yarn is, so it's good practice in reading your knitting. You will also be working in the round.
The pattern includes instructions for a longer cowl (you'll need about 300m of yarn for that one).
If you need any help accessing the pattern please let me know!
